A famous investor in bay area once mentioned an interesting phenomenon: When he asked people: “How is your company doing?” Many would say: “We are running well, we already have 150 employees now!” but when he followed with a revenue question, quite often it was a trivial number. Many Chinese design houses seems to have adopted this obsolete way of bay area thinking, even though it almost became a joke after the telecom bubble burst.

Leadchip created more than 100M RMB revenue with only 18 people in 2007! Even when we are running at 15M RMB/month, we only have about 30 people. Usually we are very careful to pick up a new employee. We would emphasize on and train people for basic knowledge and the correct way of thinking.

Leadchip believes anyone who can do well in this area is a smart person, and the best way to treat smart people is to be honest. In Leadchip, you can see people quarrel fiercely about a technical question, but you can barely tell any “company politics”. Our margin had well passed the standards to be a public company in China. We hope one day we can reward our employees in the stock market. Obviously we still need to expand even during the financial crisis and are looking for especially good IC Designers, Application Engineers/Filed Application Engineers, Product Engineers and Sales people.
